People like living in Scottsdale, according to the National Citizen Survey completed at the end of 2013. Residents gave our city what equates to a rating of A+.
Citizens gave the city the highest quality rating they have given Scottsdale’s quality of life in the past 10 years: 98%. In addition, 87% called our city’s quality of services “excellent” or “good.”
Citizens rated the city particularly high in safety, cleanliness and shopping opportunities. Likewise, residents rated our natural environment, the McDowell Sonoran Preserve and the availability of paths and trails exceptionally high. Library services were given a 94% performance rating.
Residents also said many services show measurable improvements – including emergency preparedness, economic development and planning and zoning. The survey did show that some areas could use improvement like brush pick-up service and public transportation.
Improving public transportation is one of the five priorities set by the City Council and was the topic of our Council meeting on February 25th.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey. Your opinions count!
I am pleased to know that citizens believe Scottsdale is moving in the right direction and are feeling positive about our city.
